OUIJA RADIO NEWS

January 3rd 2007

Well it's the new year and Ouija Radio's New Year resolution is to make it to Europe in the fall. We have accomplished quite a bit but the work is never done. We completed a near two month tour of the country in support for the new album 'OH NO...YES! YES!'. If you haven't picked one up yet you can still order one. You'll have to go to our myspace page and click on the album. If you go to the journal link on this website it will take you right there. Also, we got to play some amazing shows in the last couple of months including our own homecoming show at The Uptown and the annual holiday show in the First Avenue Mainroom with Soul Asylum. It was an honor. We have some cool gigs coming up for the next few months. We are keeping it pretty regional and close to home. We are looking forward to a Duluth trip and playing with local chic rockers 'The KeepAways' at Pizza Luce. We are also looking forward to playing in one of our favorite Mid West cities Madison with Screamin' Cyn Cyn and the Pons for drummer Steve's birthday at The Glass Nickel. Christy heads back to rock and roll college for the next 9 months and while she's busy hitting the books she will also be writing the next album. As you know Ouija Radio has been a power trio for the last year but never be surprised if additional people jump into the mix. Ouija is planning on making the annual SXSW trip and a small tour of the midwest on the way down to Texas. On the bands health and well being, well, Matt is his usual self. He never gets sick because of his happy go lucky attitude and his healthy abundance of fine microbrewed beers. Charles is taking a new plunge from giving private music lessons to teaching actual classes at The Minnesota College of Business. He's teaching both a Music Business class and an Regular Business class about 'Selling'. He's also only 9 months away from recieving his MBA from Augsburg college. We say go get get um' tiger. He can teach them about selling your record collection to go on tour. HA! HA! And finally, Christy heads back to McNally Smith College of Music to enter into her 3rd semester of completing her bachelors in guitar perfomance. She plans on getting her ass thoroughly kicked. Well that's the news for now. Ouija Radio would personally love to see everyone at the shows. The Rock can only survive if the people go to the shows. We hope to see you there!

After that we will be working our butts off and preparing for our 2 month long national tour. Our CD release party for "OH NO...YES! YES!" will be at the Turf Club Friday October the 13th. The line-up is amazing. The day of the CD release we will be doing the local KFAI radio show soget tuned in. We are also going to be making a couple of videos from the album and are looking forward to making them available to you all within a couple of months. For the CD release shows we will also have stand up/musical comic Mary Mack on board. We are also playing the next night in Madison for a CD release party there at The High Noon Saloon. It will be the same line-up plus Awesome Car Funmaker. We head south first towards San Antonio for Lady Fest and then West where we will hook up with NYC rockers The Fresh Kills for a bout. We head back into the midwest after Halloween and towards the East Coast for November and into December we head home. Our new album is av ailable now. If you'd like a preorder just go to our links page and hit Crustacean Records. They'd be delighted to help you out. Also, in the new year our good friend Christian Fritz will be putting out a split 12" record with Brit rockers The Telescopes. The song is of a recording we did a year ago with Rich Mattson of one of our epic tour sets. It will also be the last appearance with our old keyboard player Sarah Huska. Well that's it for now. Hope to see you all out and about.
